So you want to start a Creative Consultancy?

After two decades in big agencies, leading creative work for brands like Coca-Cola, Nando’s, and USAID, and collecting a trail of Loeries, Pendorings, One Show and D&AD awards along the way, Suhana Gordhan did something unexpected. Trading the machinery of big agencies for something more intimate and intentional, she launched a creative consultancy, LoveSong. In this conversation, she shares the honest reality of starting from scratch and learning your worth. If you've ever thought about going independent, this one's for you.

As they head to Cannes 2025, Star, Suhana, Liesl and Bruno unpack global creativity and South Africa’s place in it

Cannes Lions 2025 is almost here, and before these four industry heavyweights jet off, we had questions. Four, to be exact. So we threw them at Spotify Africa’s Head of Marketing Star Kachisa, Spitfire’s Liesl Lategan Kyriakou, Carbon Films’ Bruno Bossi, and LoveSong’s Suhana Gordhan to find out what they’re expecting from this year’s festival; from the trends they’re tracking to the ideas they’re backing.

Seats secured, Open Chair sends 15 South African women to Cannes

As part of this year’s Cannes Lions build-up, we’re celebrating a powerful initiative that’s all about access and representation. Open Chair, the platform founded by industry powerhouse Suhana Gordhan to uplift and connect women across the creative industry, successfully secured 15 passes for South African women through the festival’s global ERA Programme (Equity, Representation, and Accessibility).

Friends in High Places

During Loeries Creative Week, Open Chair, in partnership with Nedbank, hosted a speed dating afternoon with a difference. Aptly called, “Friends in High Places,” it was held at The Cape Wheel at the Waterfront. 65 mentees had face time with 31 mentors from across the industry. The pods on the wheel served as an ideal safe space for these women to share their stories and receive guidance.
