IDIDTHAT Craft Awards June 2020

June’s IDIDTHAT Craft Awards were judged by Sibusiso Sitole (CCO at The Odd Number) and Evy Katz (Editor at Left Post). Best in Craft was awarded to Telekom ‘Cyber Mobbing’ for Direction, Editing, and Cinematography. Huge congrats to the team - Kim Geldenhuys, Adam Bentel, and Matthias Graatz.

‘Griekwastad’ film directed by Jozua Malherbe and co-produced by 7 Films premieres in SA

'Griekwastad' is the true crime film based on the 2012 gruesome murders of a family on their farm in Naauwhoek. The son, a teenage boy, the sole survivor of the attack. We speak with the film’s director, Jozua Malherbe, and his co-producing team at 7 Films about this much-anticipated movie and how it’s lead to him officially joining the production company.

IDIDTHAT Craft Awards: February 2020

IDIDTHAT Craft Awards just got a whole lot more judgy mcjudgerson. As of this month, we will have TWO judges independently selecting South Africa’s Best in Craft. February’s IDIDTHAT Craft Award’s top dogs are, drumroll please, Executive Creative Director at TBWA Hunt Lascaris, Kabelo Moshapalo and Executive Producer and Music Supervisor at Pulse Music, Marc Algranti. Congratulations to all the winners!

Best in Film Craft: November 2019

November’s iDidTht Craft Awards were judged by the highly Instagrammable ECD of King James Group JHB, Graeme Jenner. Born in England (but we won’t hold that against him), Graeme moved to SA, was raised in Secunda and became a Graphic Designer in Joburg. Since then he has made his mark on the industry in countless ways, including being the Founder of King James II. An honour and a privilege to have you Graeme!

Every month iDidTht teams up with an industry superstar to award South Africa’s best in Craft. For the month of September, we were joined by none other than Neo Mashigo. His credits are endless so in the interest of word count, here’s the highlights reel: CCO for at M&C Saatchi Group, former Chairperson & current board member of Loeries, Co-Founder of 'I See a Different You', on the Executive Committee of the Creative Circle, and basically won all the awards including Grand Prix at Cannes, legend. Our iDidTht Craft Awards for August were judged by Creative Director at TBWA Hunt Lascaris, Nikki Taylor-Garrett. Fresh from serving on the jury at Cannes, Nikki brings over a decade of industry experience, working with some of the top brands while simultaneously creating disruptive work for non-profits.
