Director Bongani Morgan, the real story guy on the rise

It’s been almost a year since Bongani Morgan joined the team at Made Films and he’s hit the ground running. While collecting awards for his documentary Map1mp1 and TV show, The Braai Show with Cassper Nyovest, Bongani spent most of 2022 travelling across the country directing for the likes of Vodacom and Red Bull and months directing his new series for Showmax, shot across the entire KZN region. Now finally back home in Joburg, and available for commercial briefs again with the powerhouse backing of his production team at Made, it was time for a catch-up.

Made Films keeps growing, welcomes emerging director James Reynolds

Made Films’ directing roster is getting even bigger as they welcome director James Reynolds. He first joined the company just over half a year ago as an Assistant Director to Made director Dani Hynes. He first caught the team at Made’s attention because of his experience in research, writing and assisting as well as the time he had spent in just about every production department. As an actor, he’s worked all over the world and is a skilled street and portrait photographer and award-winning short film director – a ‘Jack of all Trades’ as Dumi (Made Producer Dumisani Mvumvu) calls him.

Made Films’ Director Dani Hynes plucks at our heartstrings in Bokomo’s ode to the past 100 years ad

Dani Hynes has directed Bokomo’s latest commercial; an almost 3-minute film starring a 9-year-old, her grandpa, a duck and a snail. The ad does not do much to serve the old adage ‘don’t work with children or animals’, but then again, Dani has always loved a challenge. In collaboration with agency MullenLowe, this beautiful cinematic and emotive piece of storytelling takes you on a heartfelt journey exploring two nurturing relationships and the passing on of wisdom that is sure to pluck at the heartstrings.
