This month's IDIDTHAT.co Craft Awards were judged by the esteemed, distinguished (and more words that mean fancy) Glenn Jeffery, Executive Creative Director at Grey Africa and Zwelethu Radebe, Director & Partner at Egg Films. Congratulations to directors Karien Cherry from Giant Films and Gareth Kaatze from Groundglass for being awarded Best of Craft this month.
What a month! Really great work was entered, and there was a lot of it, making it really tough for our judges, but they pulled through. September’s (we know, we know, we’re a bit late this month but we blame the glitz, the hangovers and the velvety seats of this year’s Loeries) IDIDTHAT.co Craft Awards were judged by the insightful and wise Kirk Gainsford, Chief Creative Officer, MullenLowe SA and Katlego Baaitse, Director at Spitfire Films. Congratulations to Dean Blumberg from Massïf, Zee Ntuli from Darling Films and Peter Pohorsky from Plank on taking home Best of Craft. Well done for doing well!
SHE DID THAT is a female filmmakers showcase that shines a spotlight on the women in the South African production industry. Although we will only be featuring women and non-binary people, the goal is that it will encourage the inclusion of more underrepresented filmmakers across all production work created by South Africans. This month features Sam Sterling-Court from The Star Film Company, Ying-Poi De Lacy from Massif and Benitha Vlok from Video Cartel.
Massïf Films’ Gordon Lindsay has a reel that screams BIG BUDGETS, and although he has worked on many high-end jobs locally and around the world for the likes of Guinness and Tinder, the truth is a lot of the work was made on a shoestring. It’s not the budgets that have contributed to Gordon’s impressive reel, it’s his ability to craft visually exciting work.
This month’s IDIDTHAT.co Craft Awards were judged by Executive Creative Director at FCB Tian van den Heever and Animation & VFX Supervisor and Head of Production at Chocolate Tribe, Rob van den Bragt. Congratulations to the man, the myth, the legend himself, Greg Gray on nabbing this month's Best in Craft.
This month's IDIDTHAT.co Craft Awards were judged by Ana Rocha, Executive Creative Director at VMLY&R and Amy Allais, Director and Co-Founder of Ola! Films. Congratulations to our esteemed Best in Crafters for August, the dashing Jason Fialkov from Groundglass and Fausto Becatti from Bioscope.

South Africa did us proud this year bringing home Metal and Merits for days! Congrats you beauties. Here we showcase all the work by our IDIDTHAT members. Wild clapping and screaming for Promise, who nabbed a whole bloody CNA stationary section with their Gold, Bronze and Silver Pencils. We’ll keep the clapping going strong for TBWA Hunt Lascaris Johannesburg and their TWO Silvers, Joe Public United and 7 Films who both picked up Silver and Post Modern and Massif for their Bronze. You did us damn proud ❤

‘They Did That’ is out! This is all the most recent work that South African agencies want to show off. We’ve credited all the iDidTht companies who worked on it so you know who’s even sexier to work with.
Every month iDidTht.com teams up with an industry leader to award South Africa’s best in Film Craft. This month, Claudi Potter, yes, the multiple award-winning Creative Director at Joe Public United, brings her years of judgy-mcjudgerson experience to our awards and we are in awe to say the least. Thank you Claudi and congrats to all the winners.
This month we showcase the stand-out work that South African companies on iDidTht are doing. Massive congrats to all the sexy winners.
