Best in Film Craft: June 2018

This month’s iDidTht Craft Awards are judged by Chief Creative Officer at 1886 Advertising, Stuart Stobbs. We couldn’t find an active Facebook or Twitter account for Stuart, which set off some major alarms, but his LinkedIn profile assures us he is legit. Love you Stuart (and that hairstyle)! 😘

Best in Film Craft: May 2018

This month’s iDidTht Craft Awards are judged by Creative Director at DDB South Africa, Nicola Wielopolski. Having already bagged all the top awards herself, it's about time she hands them out. Nicola, you always rock our world!

Best in Film Craft: April 2018

With over a 100 statues of his own (show off!), who better to judge this month’s iDidTht Craft Awards than CCO at TBWA Hunt Lascaris and Creative Circle Chairperson (drum roll please), the legendary Peter Khoury! And as we always say, just keep calm and Khoury on!

Best in Film Craft: March 2018

Taking time out from her fitness regime of getting in formation and collecting awards like No. 1 ECD in SA for the last 2 years, Mariana O’Kelly, Executive Creative Director at Ogilvy JHB, judges this month’s iDidTht Craft Awards. Mariana, we are not worthy 🙏

Best in Film Craft: February 2018

Executive Creative Director at Publicis Machine, Gareth McPherson, has come a long way since roaming the cutthroat halls of Rondebosch Boys’ High. Lucky for us Gareth rose above this adversity and is now a badass creative leader and we’re honoured to have him judge this month’s iDidTht Craft Awards.

Best in Film Craft: January 2018

Creative Director at Hellocomputer, Camilla Clerke, judged this month’s Craft Awards. Camilla has gone from winning awards at Loeries, D&AD and Cannes to judging awards at Cannes to even filling a can with water from a stream #DayZero. She’s a pretty big deal and it’s a privilege and an honour to have her *curtsy

Best in Film Craft: December 2017

The December's Craft Awards were judged by the legendary Cameron Watson. If you Google ‘Cameron Watson’, you get everyone from a Scottish Australian football player, an actor from the series Dynasty to the Creative Director at King James. The first two will forever live in the third’s shadow, shame... Thanks for gracing us with your presence Cameron Watson, we are in awe! Congratulations to all the winners.

Best in Film Craft: November 2017

iDidTht's Monthly Craft Awards showcase the very best in craft by production companies in SA. This month we asked Jenny Glover, ECD at TBWA\Hunt Lascaris, to select her standouts. She has over 45 international awards, including 21 Cannes Lions and four D&AD Yellow Pencils, is ranked 2nd on the Creative Circle rankings and 1st on iDidTht's 'Creatives We Like To Stalk' rankings. A privilege to have you Jenny. (We promise not to hug you, but we will enthusiastically chant your name) Jenny! Jenny! Jenny!

Best in Film Craft: October 2017

This month’s Craft Awards were judged by the bedroom eyes of Nkanyezi Masango, Creative Director at King James Group, Cape Town. Nkanyezi has collected a brag-worthy 9 Cannes Lions and is a champion for diversity in the creative field. Welcome Nkanyezi, you gorgeous, clever man you GRRRR 🐆

Best in Film Craft: April 2017

Tim Beckering, Creative Director at Network BBDO in JHB, awards iDidTht’s Best in Film Craft this month. Tim is a total speed freak, like a local version of The Fast and the Furious, except Tim knows when to stop. Which is why he only chose one Best of Reel and one Special Mention campaign this month #MicDrop #Boom

Best in Film Craft: March 2017

Multi-award winning Steph van Niekerk awards this month’s best in film craft by Production Companies. She’s a small person so you may not always see her entering a room, but don’t mess with her because she’ll throw SA’s first (and only) TV and Cinema Gold One Show statue at you.

Best in Film Craft: February 2017

Mike Barnwell, Executive Creative Director at FCB Cape Town, awards the best in film craft by Production Companies this month. Mike left New Zealand in 2012, sending the country into a downward spiral - it is now the 4th highest user of amphetamines worldwide. Meanwhile, since Mike moved to Cape Town, the city has been named the world’s ‘Best City’. Coincidence? We think not…

Best in Film Craft: January 2017

Liam Wielopolski, Chief Creative Officer at DDB South Africa, awards the best in film craft by Production Companies this month. He was ranked number 3 Chief Creative Officer at the recent Loeries rankings, but more importantly, his Avi on Twitter is an egg, he has 11 followers and his one and only tweet reads: “First tweet, yehaa!’’ - that was back in June 2011… When Liam’s not strategically questioning and undermining the conventions of social media, he’s an industry leader and you need to take note of what he rates as South Africa’s best. We’re honoured to have you Liam…yehaa! 😉

Best in Film Craft: December 2016

Fran Luckin, Chief Creative Officer at Grey Africa Johannesburg, awards the best in film craft by Production Companies this month. She's a bad ass who's bl**dy brilliant at spotting the best craft, so grab your skinny soy frappuccino and have a read through her comments.
