South Africa’s D&AD Work & Winners 2025
This year, South Africa brought home a Wood Pencil at the prestigious D&AD Awards and it went to The Odd Number for their powerful Salvation Army campaign. With thousands of entries from across the globe, getting awarded at D&AD is no small feat, so huge kudos to the team for flying the SA flag high!
Flying Fish gave a guy a billboard. Gentlemen Films’ Jono Hall made it a whole thing.
Comedy chaos, community drama, and a very big billboard in a very small yard. Flying Fish’s latest spot has all the ingredients of a “Surprisingly Good” mockumentary. Brought to life by Joe Public and directed by Jono Hall from Gentlemen Films, the hilariously escalating ad puts performance and tone front and centre.

Best in Film Craft: December 2019
We’re not quite done with 2019 yet! December’s iDidTht Craft Awards were judged by the bearded beauty himself, Ryan McManus. Apart from being the Regional CCO at VMLY&R South Africa and on the Creative Circle EXCO, Ryan has been recognised at Cannes, D&AD, Loeries, One Show, ADC, Effies, NYF and often on the streets. Thank you, Ryan, you gorgeous clever creative you!
Best in Film Craft: November 2019
November’s iDidTht Craft Awards were judged by the highly Instagrammable ECD of King James Group JHB, Graeme Jenner. Born in England (but we won’t hold that against him), Graeme moved to SA, was raised in Secunda and became a Graphic Designer in Joburg. Since then he has made his mark on the industry in countless ways, including being the Founder of King James II. An honour and a privilege to have you Graeme!
