South Africa came out punching at The One Show Awards 2026, with local agencies, production companies, creatives, marketers, and brands picking up Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Merit recognition across a wide spread of categories. Go team SA! Congratulations to all the South African Pencil and Merit winners. Here’s the work that brought it home.

IDIDTHAT Directory

Quickly find the right people to work with by searching through our curated Directory. We make the process of sourcing South African companies to work with easy, simple and downright sexy. Basically, if you’re not listed on IDIDTHAT.co, you simply don’t exist, like Bruce Willis in that movie with the kid that sees dead people, except nobody will see you…#Shame

Meet Capitol Collective with end-to-end production scaled the smart way

The main focus isn’t just the TV ad anymore. It’s every screen. Instagram, YouTube, digital billboards, stories, reels, square, widescreen, vertical. That’s where Capitol Collective thrives. They understand the new reality of advertising: campaigns don’t stop at the 30-second spot. The team is used to building entire ecosystems of content, from digital and social to billboards, stills, BTS and case studies, often shooting everything in parallel.

The Creative Process: How top ad minds come up with ideas.

Ranked the #1 Creative Director in Africa and the Middle East at The One Show 2024, Alex Goldberg is Creative Partner at Ogilvy Cape Town, overseeing Volkswagen, Audi, and Coronation. In this Q&A, he shares how ideas really happen inside the agency, what it takes to move a brand forward, and why trusting your gut (while pushing the craft) matters most.

Kabeer Shaik joins Massīf and drops a powerful new NSRI spot

Massīf has officially signed cinematographer-turned-director Kabeer Shaik. Known across the industry for his strong visual language and collaborative chops behind the lens, Kabeer is now stepping into the director’s chair, and if his latest NSRI spot is anything to go by, he’s making quite the entrance.

IDIDTHAT Monthly Craft Awards

Find out who’s doing the best work in South Africa. Every month we team up with industry leaders to award South Africa’s best in Production Craft. Huge thanks to our recent guest judges who’ve taken the time to judge IDIDTHAT Craft Awards. Look how sexy they are in these black and white pictures we put up – FYI we used the ‘Inkwell’ filter.

Best in Film Craft: August 2018

This month’s iDidTht Craft Awards are judged by Mr Easy on the Eyes himself, Executive Creative Director at TBWA\ Johannesburg, Kabelo Moshapalo. When not judging every award show out there, Kabelo is a master of creative digital solutions, driving creative excellence, and posing for kickass insta-selfies. An honour and a privilege to have you Kabelo!

Best in Film Craft: July 2018

This month’s iDidTht Craft Awards are judged by Molefi Thulo, Creative Director at Ogilvy Johannesburg. Just because he was a judge at Cannes Lions this year, doesn’t mean he forgot about his squad back home. Thanks Mo – next round of Rosé on us! 🍷

Best in Film Craft: June 2018

This month’s iDidTht Craft Awards are judged by Chief Creative Officer at 1886 Advertising, Stuart Stobbs. We couldn’t find an active Facebook or Twitter account for Stuart, which set off some major alarms, but his LinkedIn profile assures us he is legit. Love you Stuart (and that hairstyle)! 😘
