IDIDTHAT Craft Awards June 2024

This month's IDIDTHAT.co Craft Awards were judged by the illustrious judgy-McJudgersons Steph van Niekerk, ECD at TBWA Hunt Lascaris and Anton Visser, Director at Patriot Films. A standing ovation goes to Thina Zibi from Giant Films and Zee Ntuli from Darling Films for taking home Best in Craft for June.

This month’s IDIDTHAT.co Craft Awards were judged by our forever reigning queens Juliet Honey, Creative Director at TBWA Hunt Lascaris and Justine Puren-Calverley, Director at FirstPencil. IDIDTHAT Presents ‘SHE DID THAT’ March 2023

SHE DID THAT is a female filmmakers showcase that shines a spotlight on the women in the South African production industry. Although we will only be featuring women and non-binary people, the goal is that it will encourage the inclusion of more underrepresented filmmakers across all production work created by South Africans. This month features Chloe Coetsee from Darling Films, Jabu Nadia Newman from Romance Films and Renee van Reenen from Platypus.

Commissioned by well-known cultural platform NOWNESS and created by Romance Films, ‘The Dream That Refused Me’ is a visual poem that explores black identity through dance, digital filters, and collage artwork. We sat down with Director Jabu Nadia Newman to unpack this striking and surreal film.
