IDIDTHAT Presents ‘SHE DID THAT’

Welcome to IDIDTHAT’s new monthly series where we shine a spotlight on the women in the South African production industry. SHE DID THAT makes it even easier to find local female filmmakers. Our hope is that this will become a talent showcase and a useful resource to access and discover the right people for your projects. Although we will only be featuring women and non-binary people, the goal is that it will encourage the inclusion of more underrepresented filmmakers across all production work created by South Africans.

Alexa Wilson
Director at Arcade

Alexa comes from a family of filmmakers and climbed the ranks as a director’s assistant at Egg Films, where she learned from some of the best directors in the game. Building from this solid foundation, Alexa has delivered polished, outstanding work for brands including Standard Bank, Edgars and Castle Lager.

Ceara McEvoy
Director/DOP at Video Cartel

Ceara is a director specialising in fashion retail, lifestyle and doccie with a love of multi-media visuals. Her attention to detail and hands on approach through each phase of the creative process makes her the perfect agency, brand and production ally, building campaigns from conception through to final delivery.

Hloni Ntsooa
Director at Spitfire Films

Hloni has a scrupulous eye for style and a love of all things musical. She creates powerful pieces of work that are as fresh and exciting as she is. Throwing herself into her work with passion and fanaticism Hloni’s love of filmmaking is infectious. A powerful young voice to look out for.
