The countdown to Cannes Lions 2023 has begun. As always IDIDTHAT will be the ultimate source of all the South African news live from Cannes. This year, IDIDTHAT has joined forces with Howard Audio led by Cannes veteran Adam Howard. Howard Audio is the perfect partner for Cannes, having previously won Gold, Silver and Bronzes at Cannes, the company understands the importance of supporting our Saffas nominated on the international stage.
In the past two years we’ve seen so much expanding from Howard Audio it’s been hard to keep up! Besides Adam Howard being ranked the top music Composer and Supervisor in 2020 at the Loeries, he’s also made some major moves for South Africa’s sound industry. First it was a Dolby Atmos 7.1.4 studio and now Adam has collaborated with heavy-hitter Robin Kohl of Jazzworx to build a new immersive sound recording studio unlike we have ever seen. So obviously we have questions, four to be exact.
‘Finding the Forgotten Graduate’ is a massive ten-part digital storytelling campaign that takes us back in time to honour the pioneering intellectuals whose stories have almost entirely been omitted from our history books. Howard Audio was responsible for crafting the composition, sound-design and final-mix of the audio for this groundbreaking project and thanks to him and the whole team involved, the rest is history.
Adam Howard has once again quantum leaped his sound game by making Howard Audio one of South Africa’s first Dolby Atmos enabled and calibrated Home Entertainment mixing studios for commercials, music and OTT streaming services such as Netflix. What is Atmos and why should you give a damn? Here’s a hint, it’s not only a cinema thing anymore…
Howard Audio’s very own Adam Howard has been named South Africa’s top music Composer and Supervisor by the Loeries. We caught up to congratulate the man of the hour and he shared some lekker behind the scenes moments from recent projects close to his heart.
Have you seen what happened to Howard Audio? We talk to owner Adam Howard about expanding the premises, opening a restaurant and bringing sessions to over 200 musos during all kinds of levels.
We go behind the scenes with Adam Howard on how he created the new sound for Consol Glass. We also end up getting an invaluable masterclass on the importance of the sound a brand makes - from 'Ba da ba ba ba. I’m loving it’ to the noise your phone makes when you receive a WhatsApp. Welcome to the world of audio branding.
Fresh from winning at Cannes for the THIRD YEAR IN A ROW, Adam Howard from Howard Audio dishes on his latest collaboration with Joe Public United and Director Greg Gray. It’s everything you wanted to know about Chicken Licken’s Soul Sister campaign. C’mon girl, give it a read!💃💃💃
We get the score from Adam Howard himself on Howard Audio’s journey and what this globally awarded sound facility has to offer the industry now. [Beware of music puns, some serious name-dropping (because we insisted) and some acapella soundscaping, obviously.] Nothing but treble here folks! Ba-dum tsssh!
