Nathan has established an outstanding track record over the last twenty years. He continues to be awarded by his peers both locally and across the globe. Grid has become the most awarded brand driven Design Company in South Africa, Africa and the Middle East. Nathan’s rise to become one of South Africa’s most respected and awarded creatives has been meteoric.

In 1992, just two years after starting his career at FCB, Nathan joined TBWA/Hunt Lascaris as Head of Design. He then moved on to head up the design department at AMC, (subsequently DDB South Africa). Nathan is a founding member of TBWA/Gavin/Reddy and remains a committed advocate of Grid’s simple philosophy: “The world doesn’t need another brand. #make it mean something.”

An intuitive grasp of a brand’s essence and an outstanding ability to capture, reflect and deliver a disciplined brand personality across multiple touch points has helped attract a growing number of sophisticated marketers: Brand South Africa, Sasol, Telkom, Liberty South Africa, ACSA, SA Tourism, BMW, Transnet, Ster-Kinekor, MTN, Exclusive Books, Southern Sun, McDonald’s, Nissan, Coca-Cola, Mobil, Liberty Life, YFM, ICC Cricket World Cup and FNB. This string of blue-chip brands has recently been further enhanced by the addition of the rebranding of Qatar Tourism. The positive transformation of the South African Design Industry remains Nathan’s greatest source of inspiration. He is the founder of The South African Graphic Design Council (THINK) and an executive Director of the Creative Circle. His work has been extensively published both locally and abroad. The quality and relevance of South African design continues to be considerably enriched by Nathan’s unique combination of passion and discipline.
