ABOUT THE WORK
Why don’t all directors shoot like this? Discovery gets on board with Katlego.
Discovery Insure’s bold new campaign by agency Affective 27 is founded on the premise that they help stop bad things happen. So you can see how they made an instant connection with Spitfire Director Katlego Baaitse. He not only stops bad things from happening, he makes great things happen, time after time.
And this was a great project. Fantastic characters, loads of locations and – as always – beautiful styling and cinematography, with everything shot in-camera, including the capsized car (plus nonchalant cat). Katlego then built on that authenticity, amplifying the humour with standout character performances by the entire cast, in particular the youngest member, who took to the role like a seasoned pro. Shall we talk transitions? Smart, seamless, energetic editing keeps the story rolling along, backed by a specially composed soundtrack that does too. Two 60s, three 30s, a bunch of cutdowns, and every one packed full of product features that feel 100% like entertainment.
And isn’t that the point? Information as entertainment, art and just straightforward fun. Check it out, enjoy it, sign up and feel secure.
