JUDGE’S NOTES
This online film for Black Crown Gin and Tonic proposes the idea of “putting your crown on ice” and setting down life’s burdens, if only for a moment.
Director Lebogang Rasethaba explores the alchemy of cinematically crafted shots with the energy and authenticity of real moments. Combining the artful cinematography of DOP, Josh Levi, with authentic moments, captured on a second camera, by the cast themselves – a group of up-and-coming influencers and testament to the old adage that a very tight budget is indeed the mother of invention.
A collaboration between the director and creative agency, We Are Bizarre, that underpins the theme, that when hard work, skill and craftmanship are balanced with a more relaxed and unburdened spirit, magic can be made.
