Sidelsky joins the flock

Egg Films has announced that Canadian based Marc Sidelsky has joined the team, to produce his work shooting in South Africa and to make him available to local agencies for South African work. With his cinematic visual style and clever, often subversive humour, Marc has made a name for himself in the commercial world. Seriously, who does deadpan bone-dry funny quite like Marc?! Now, he’s found a new creative home for his offbeat charm and aesthetically bold storytelling at Egg Films.

Egg Films’ Executive Producer Colin Howard says, “I’ve always loved Marc’s work and his dedication to the craft. He brings something fresh and exciting to everything he does, and we’re beyond excited to have him join the nest. Can’t wait to start making magic together!”

Marc has a lot of really good work behind his name, like a lot. Not surprising considering that just two months into his career in commercials, Marc directed his first ad for VW, which earned him a Silver Loerie. From there, he went on to become a Cannes finalist and secured a spot in the impressive Saatchi & Saatchi New Directors Showcase. Now, over 20 years later, his overflowing trophy cabinet speaks to a career defined by award-winning work that keeps us clamouring for more.

Here are just a few of our favourite spots from Marc’s reel.

Arsenal x Adidas Football ‘3rd Kit Launch’

KFC ‘Whenever, Wherever’

Shelflife ‘Stüssy x Nike’

Ionos ‘Aunt Helga’

Captain Morgan ‘Clue Palooza’ (Director’s Cut)

Jet Menswear ‘Bheki’
