ABOUT THE WORK
With 12 official languages, South Africa’s diverse accents aren’t easily understood by voice-command technology. The Nissan Magnite Range addresses this challenge with the Voice Connect feature with Natural Language Understanding. It learns from speech patterns, vocal nuances, and tone changes to accurately interpret commands – even if the commands are unclear. We showcased this technology through storytelling using homophones and homonyms, that can only be understood if you get the nuances of what’s being said – demonstrating how it can deduct commands from deciphering verbal nuances.
