Context and challenge: The end-of-year festive season is the most crucial time when blood is needed. In 2021, the South African National Blood Service (SANBS) were facing low supplies due to a lack of donor centres in offices and schools because of Covid-19. Objective: To encourage the public to donate blood by increasing their awareness that donating blood saves lives.
Creative concept: To encourage blood donations we created a campaign showing scenarios where other life saving devices have been replaced by blood donation bags. A visual analogy that told the public that by donating blood they can quite literally save someone’s life.
