To announce Bavaria’s sponsorship of the Comrades Marathon, we gave one runner who was attempting his 36th race, a surprise sendoff. The idea tied into Bavaria’s “Cheers to” campaign saluting everyday heroes in South Africa. When we heard about Maurice and his achievement we thought: here’s an everyday hero that deserves an epic cheers. The film ran online on YouTube and on all social channels with supporting collateral on TV, at the race and in print.
