JUDGES COMMENT ON (CRAFT MENTION) DIRECTION & EDITING:
“Raw, real, gritty, and honest. This 45-minute doccie, set in Lagos Nigeria, shines a light on the history of Afro-Dance, a worldwide dance sensation with its forgotten, uncredited artists. Authentically told by Kyla Philander and edited by Andrew Kirby, this piece has a lot of heart. The partnership between director and editor deserves a craft mention. And just like the dancers, this piece needs to be celebrated.”

JUDGES COMMENT ON (CRAFT MENTION) CINEMATOGRAPHY:
“I wanna give a shout-out to the beautifully captured moments that help carry the story of this awesome documentary. Nigeria is a rich textured country, but I think there was a lot given to the cinematography that elevated this piece. Good job!”
