It’s a beautiful day in Cape Town, South Africa. An iTekisi, arguably the fastest form of public transport in the city, pulls up at a traffic light, or, as we call them here, a robot. Sound system pulsing something a little too loud, the driver notices a RB7 F1 car idling next to him at the red light.
They lock eyes, a silent wager is forged there and then: the race is on.
The highest top speed recorded in Formula 1 is 372.6km/h.
The highest top speed recorded of a South African iTekisi is… unknown.
The RB7 F1 car is built for speed. But what secret tricks are the iTekisi driver and his co-pilot keeping up their sleeves?
