1 Voucher ‘Queeny’

The Cash Cartel is a series of 3 TVC, for the brand ‘1 Voucher’, the brainchild of Ahmed Tilly. Each spot features a character who has it all…except for one thing…1 Voucher. We wanted Thina Zibi to direct these, and decided to collaborate with Triple Story Content to make that happen. It was a great decision, because teamwork was the only way we’d be able to shoot three spots in one day.

Meet Queeny. Unlike other queens, Baby-gyel here is not a gold-digger, no. Why? Because gold digs her. Now if only she could get her wardrobe to co-operate…

Thina and Josh were a powerful team, able to squeeze so much performance and production value from very little time and resource. A big shout out to the art and styling dept on this. They transformed spaces in downtown Jozi to perfectly suit the tone and style we were after. Wardrobe was a challenge with Queeny, having to convincly make her boob disappear after the cashwas pulled out of the bra. A lot of trial and error, and Refiloe figured it out.
