WayOut Studios is a South African film production company based in Mossel Bay. We create concept-led commercials, branded films, music videos and documentary content for brands, agencies and artists.

Being stationed outside South Africa’s saturated metropolitan film markets gives WayOut Studios a distinct production advantage. Our Garden Route base provides access to lower regional overheads, efficient logistics, local production resources and a wide variety of underused locations. This allows us to direct more of each budget towards what ultimately appears on screen.

We specialise particularly in productions budgeted between R200,000 and R600,000. Within this range, we can provide the crew, equipment, locations and production detail associated with larger-scale work while maintaining close control over costs. This enables our clients to achieve greater visible production value without carrying the full overhead structure commonly associated with major metropolitan production environments.

The Garden Route offers access to coastal, suburban, industrial, rural and natural environments within a relatively compact area. This can reduce company moves, travel time, location costs and logistical complexity while giving productions access to settings that remain relatively fresh and underused on screen.

We prioritise filming in the Garden Route because of these creative, financial and logistical benefits. However, we retain the capability to facilitate productions in Cape Town or elsewhere in South Africa when a project requires specific metropolitan locations, specialist resources or additional production scale.

WayOut Studios manages the complete production process, from concept development and creative direction through budgeting, pre-production, filming, editing and final delivery. Our multidisciplinary team brings together producing, directing, cinematography, brand positioning, design, audience insight and distribution strategy.
