Create a digital rally point for hidden city culture
Despite being nominated as one of the world’s best hidden gems on a semi-regular basis, Durban seems determined to remain just that – hidden.
Our city is bursting at the seams with life and culture, but it can often appear impenetrable thanks to a local tendency to become slightly too possessive of the most beloved hometown haunts.
Thankfully, Andrew Rall (of Distillery 031) and Propertuity wanted to revitalise cultural accessibility in Durban by blowing it wide open with a website highlighting only the best the much adored city has to offer.
A carefully curated showcase of the gritty, vibrant, and deliciously diverse city of Durban.
Sharing this passion for Durban, we built upon Andrew’s dynamic brand by first designing the UI / UX of the website.
For easy content management, we used the ever-popular WordPress. To extend its out-of-the-box functionality, we developed a custom theme and plugins.
The website is for people on the go, so integrating location-based services and dynamic, superfast filtering was paramount.
Now tourists and Durbanites alike can use the site to map out an odyssey that includes the best culture, experiences and, of course, bunny chows that Durban has to offer.
