Project Description

In recent years (since 2010), the Niassa reserve has been hit hard by elephant poaching. An aerial survey completed in 2011 by the reserve management authority, showed that approximately 2500 elephants were killed between 2010 and 2011.  Niassa has lost over 60% of their elephants in the last five years. Working with a team of dedicated individuals at Niassa Wilderness we produced this film to create awareness about the plight of elephant here, and the need to protect this part of Mozambique – an area twice the size of Kruger National Park. The aim is to show people just how incredible this vast and jurassic area is through this film. This place is worth protecting – truly unique and our hope is that the film inspires others to get involved.
