It starts with a TV teaser showing a kitchen scenario in comical chaos: There are two dancing friends, three raccoons playing hillbilly music, a couple of sequinned dancers, a pair of Jack Russells, a scuba diver and a floating superhero. And if you look carefully, a dancing dish cloth too.
A title prompts the viewer to visit kfc.co.za/shakin on their mobile phones to find out how things got so “Shakin’ Up”. Once they log in they see the same kitchen but with only the first two characters, Tammy and Dave. A sign says “Shake it Up”, the viewer shakes their phone and makes the entire kitchen shake up and down for real. Once the characters have landed and recovered, an additional character appears. Then with each hand prompt, the kitchen shakes and fills up with more characters and builds to the delightful chaos we saw in the teaser.
