Nature is a powerful force, often taking lives, but on rare occasions saving them. In the oceans and seas, many lives are lost rather than saved. To emphasize how rare a moment of Nature’s “kindness” is, we photographically captured the phenomenon of some natural element – a shaft of light, a rainbow, a flock of birds – “pointing out” where a human being is in distress out at sea. The odds of this happening are extremely slim.
